Meet the Performers Bringing Our Favorite Ghost Fighter Characters to Life.
Slowly releasing teaser posters for their impending live-action adaptation of YuYu Hakusho—commonly known as Ghost Fighter among Filipino fans—Netflix Japan began to pique fans' interest. The live-action adaptation's cast was recently made public, which is one of their recent advancements.
Four of Ghost Fighter's primary characters will be brought to life by these actors.
Takumi Kitamura played Haruki Shiga and Takemichi Hanagaki, respectively, in the film live adaptations of I Want To Eat Your Pancreas and Tokyo Revengers, but now you'll get to see him as the former miscreant Yusuke or Eugene who, after his death and resurrection, becomes the "Underworld Detective" and looks into paranormal cases in the human realm. We all wished we could use his "spirit gun" technique to shoot spirit energy out of our pointer fingers.

In the live adaption series, Jun Shison plays Kurama, a sensitive and intelligent fox demon also known as Dennis. If you enjoy anime, there's a good chance you've watched Bubble on Netflix. If so, Shison is certainly a name you recognize because he provided the voice of Hibiki, the movie's main protagonist. Did you know that Kurama was first introduced as a female named Denise in the Filipino adaptation of Ghost Fighter?
Kanata Hongo also joins the main cast; if he looks familiar, it's because he played Armin in the live-action version of the well-known grim, post-apocalyptic, and giant-filled Attack On Titan. Currently, he is going to bring to life Hiei, also known as Vincent, the quick and spiky black-haired fire demon.
Shuhei Uesugi will be portraying Kazuma Kuwabara, who was once Eugene's opponent but has now become a close friend, as Alfred. He is rumored to be the sole full-blooded human—sorry, wrong universe—of the core four.
Director Sho Tsukikawa is behind the live-action remake. It is based on the 1990 release of the same-titled Japanese manga by Yoshihiro Togashi.
