Echoes On Netflix
Echoes On Netflix
The new Netflix thriller gets a review from an actual identical twin.
Leni and Gina McCleary, her onstage sisters, are seen by Echoes. The sisters, who are twins, have always kept things from one another. However, Echoes realizes that their secrets might be revealed when Leni goes missing.
The identical twin sister of Gina McCleary (Michelle Monaghan), a writer in Los Angeles, and Leni (also Monaghan), a horse breeder in Virginia, are very close. She frequently calls her sister for guidance, and the two of them exchange messages in an online journal. She is becoming concerned though because her sister typically answers her calls.

Leni's husband Jack Beck (Matt Bomer) eventually calls her to let her know that she has vanished. Gina takes off for her hometown without a second thought to see how she can help. Though the two of them are so intertwined that she wouldn't know what to do without Leni, it goes beyond merely wanting to assist.
When a day's search comes to a stop for the night, Gina, who is just as aggressive as Leni is laid back, primarily relies on Sheriff Louise Floss (Karen Robinson) to continue looking. Paula Martinez, a deputy, is told the tale by the folksy sheriff, who was a deputy when Gina left town under unusual circumstances (Rosanny Zayas).
Gina returns to her childhood home, where her father Victor (Michael O'Neill) resides with her younger sister Claudia (Ali Stoker), who is bitterly angry with Gina for leaving. Gina observes that Jack has relocated her niece Mattie (Gable Swanlund) and hired Natasha (Maddie Nichols) as a nanny. Her late mother gave her and Leni some old eerie dolls, but the body pieces are gone.
We learn that Gina is actually Leni; the two frequently trade lives as she searches for Leni in some of their favorite hangouts from when they were little, including a nearby cave. Given that Leni is given the option to pick either of their future lives in a note, it appears that the real Gina has left town permanently.
The problem is that the two switch back and forth so frequently in order to accuse one another of murder that it is frequently difficult to distinguish between them. It's nearly hard to determine who is portraying who at any one time. You know what Gina is meant to look like—she wears her hair down and has heavier eye makeup—and you know what Leni is supposed to look like—her hair is pushed to the side and she talks with a lovely Southern lilt.
The fact that Spoiler Gina saw her father drown their mother when they were little, and for whatever reason is dubbed the "bad girl" as a result, may virtually make it irrelevant who is who. However, in actuality, Leni is the one in charge. Because she was envious of Gina's friendship with Dylan, Leni set fire to the chapel and murdered Dylan to prevent Gina from fleeing.
Leni is the one who tries to blame Gina for killing Dylan, and it is Leni who pursues Gina into the river and the woods, where Gina "leaps to her death" while Leni entirely assumes another identity and flees to avoid being arrested. Even though Charlie, the therapist, knew all along that Gina and Leni were switching, he persisted with it for "therapy" purposes even though it was probably just because he liked to have sex with two people. However, Gina is not actually dead, and months later, Gina and Leni are still pulling pranks on Charlie.
